This broccoli cheese soup uses powdered chopped chicken or powdered vegetables to make the roux instead of flour

  1. Put the chopped chicken or vegetable of choice in a food processor and grind into a powder
  2. Combine all TL ingredients in one bowl, Broccoli, Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese, Chicken Bouillon and Chopped Onions in a bowl and put to the side


  1. Melt the butter in a pot
  2. Add the powdered chicken (or powdered vegetable) to the butter to make a roux like paste
  3. Add all liquids to the pot and bring to a boil
  4. Once the liquids are boiling pour in all TL ingredients
  5. Let simmer about 3 - 5 minutes to get the broccoli to the consistency you like
  6. Salt & Pepper to taste: I did not add salt, as I felt the bouillon had enough to season the soup just fine.
